When we ask/cry for help, God knows the reason why we are crying out for, but are we truthful to ourselves why are we asking God for? Some even wonder why God never answer their cries or prayers.
God is silent when we:
1. simply ask for relief from harmful, painful effects of our selfish ways.
2. are simply asking for deliverance for our selfish ways,
3. asking out of greed.
To this kind of an asking/crying, God is silent. I think this is why our prayers are often unanswered. Our selfishness has produced agony in our life and all we want is to escape the penalty; we are not at all concerned about God himself and to be taught by God, learning by his hands and feet and to bring glory to him. And that is one reason for God's silence.
Why then do we then abuse our beloved God with our crying/asking?
Because we don't understand of the purpose, as such it is prone to abuse and/or it can be confusing.
If we don't understand why we are asking? We will abuse it and lose our direction.
Ask yourselves before asking God. Why are you asking? Be truthful to yourselves. Being truthful to ourselves is one of the hardest thing in this world. It's hard but not impossible.
